Rescue operation by the crew of LYRA PIONEER

On July 30th 2005 at 04.25 hrs UTC a castaway was picked up from an inflatable kayak on board of our vessel LYRA PIONEER. He was hit by a tropical storm "Franklin" and was found in position 38-42N, 066-37W, after receiving from him a distress signal with red flare.

Though exhausted, the castaway was found in a good condition.

Congratulations to Captain Kosciuszko and his crew for saving a human life!
